What's New

SEECO 230 kV one-way switch

SEECO is now manufacturing 230 kV phase-over-phase one-way, two-way, three-way and in-line switches, in both air-break and full load-break configurations. Amperage ratings include 600, 1200, 2000 and 3000 amps.  Contact the factory or your local sales representative for additional details.

SEECO 3000 amp rated phase-over-phase GOABS(r) switch and Monoruptr(r) vacuum interrupter

Amperage ratings for phase-over-phase GOABS® switches and Monoruptr® vacuum interrupter have now been increased to 3000 amps, including all one-way, two-way, three-way and in-line switch configurations  and all voltages.  Contact the factory or your local sales representative for additional details.

SEECO single bottle interrupter on 15 kV Pascor Atlantic vertical break SEECO has expanded our vacuum interrupter product line and we now offer retro-fit kits for other brands of group operated switches, including Pascor Atlantic, USCO and Royal.  Retro-fit kits are available in both single and multi bottle interrupter configurations for center Vee, vertical break and side break switches.  Retro-fit kits for other brands are currently under development.

HVW assembly on SEECO one-way switch

The High Velocity Whip (HVW) is a spring loaded, stored energy arcing horn providing substantially greater interruption of line charging currents than traditional or other enhanced horn designs. Designed to open a very large air gap within the first cycle after separation, the whip also employs a Delrin® tip, which assists in the dissipation of ionized gases.

Recently tested at NEETRAC, the HVW outperformed all other arcing horns in head to head competition. The HVW is now available for all SEECO group operated switches, including side-break and center Vee style switches. Retro-fit kits for other brands and switch styles will be available in mid 2009. Contact the factory for additional details.

SEECO remote input/output module for RF or optical fiber communication Our most recent major new product introduction is a remote I/O device that allows for RF and optical fiber communication between devices.  This can be used in both substation and transmission applications and provides a convenient means for communication of status and relay control without the time and expense of traditional trenching and multi wire cabling.

CVD board for use in fault isolation of motor operated pole top switches The Current and Voltage Detection Board (CVD) provides local detection of fault events in conjunction with motor operated pole-top switches, enabling local automatic or remotely controlled sectionalizing and fault isolation.  In automatic mode, the CVD board will initiate motor operation of the associated switch (open or close) after recognition of a valid fault event.  In remote mode, the fault event triggers a contact closure through an RTU and operation of the switch is initiated remotely at the discretion of utility personnel.  The CVD board utilizes current and voltage inputs provides by separate current and voltage sensors, instrument transformers or similar devices.

ASB board for use in independent, automatic motor operation of pole top switches The Auto Sectionalizing Board (ASB) provides simple, user configurable control logic for the independent and automatic operation of motor operated pole top switches.  The ASB will initiate motor operation of the associated switch (open or close) based on the presence or absence of voltage, with or without time delay.  Voltage indication is provided by a separate voltage sensor, potential transformer or similar device.

New assembly facility for motor operators, sensors and interrupters

Here we grow again!  Construction was completed in late 2003 and our new manufacturing facility (plant 2) entered service in early 2004.  This new facility adds approximately 12,000 additional square feet of assembly space to support continued growth in motor operator, interrupter and sensor sales and production.  In addition, this facility will provide much needed room for our growing product development and testing activities.
